Loading control
Improper handling of goods during the loading process can lead to product damage and significant financial losses for participants in foreign economic activity. That's why it's important to entrust the inspection of correct work at all stages to professionals.
To ensure that the goods are delivered to the consignee in good condition, a responsible specialist checks the cargo before shipment and enters information about its condition into a special packing list.
What does the inspector check during the loading process?
During the loading process, the inspector checks:
- The weight of the goods or products, the number of pieces and the range of products;
- The conformity of the cargo with the information indicated in the specifications.;
- The Container condition - integrity, damage, deformations, or corrosion, as well as traces of leakage, dirt or contamination are considered.
- The condition of the boxes or packaging for export.
- The quality of the container loading, as well as the correct placement inside the transport unit.
- The Weather conditions during the loading process - in case of unfavorable weather conditions, the loading may need to be delayed;
- The presence of any transportation marking.
- Information about the container;
- Any other information requested by the customer.
The inspection process is documented with photographs at each stage and concludes with a sealing procedure to ensure the integrity of the container during the transport. Upon completion, the inspector will prepare a report on the inspection, and the customer will receive all necessary documentation, including photographs and a packing list.
Where and when does the loading inspection take place?
The loading inspection process takes place in the country of departure, either, at the cargo preparation stage or at the time of loading the cargo onto the vehicle. The inspection process and its location will depend on the verification parameters.
For instance, the recalculating of the product quantity, weighing, and evaluating the quality of containers is often done by a specialist at a warehouse. The operational control of the goods placement is carried out at the port or another location where cargo handling takes place.
